Good Day Sunshine
So it ended up being more of an early morning than a late night. But that’s ok. After all, it is Bonnaroo.
After catching a bit of Mayer Hawthorne & the County, I came back to the Radio Compound to meet up with Lt. Dan to see The XX, Lotus and Joshua James. The energy of each act on stage was matched only by the energy in the crowd at each show.
Lt. Dan and I met some very nice folks from as far away as Chicago and as close as Manchester. Random? Yes. Surprising? No. After all, it’s Bonnaroo. In fact the young lady we met from Chicago spent 18 hours driving and waiting in line to get to “Bonnaroo – the best place on Earth”. She didn’t even know the Blackhawks won the Stanley Cup?! (GO HAWKS!)
Dan and I also spent some time hanging out with the guys from Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros. Great guys – great band.
Hammel got back from Radio Bonnaroo 101.5 and we were more than happy to close the compound. At about 4:30am.
It’s warm today. It was warm yesterday. Even warmer today. (You either know or need an explanation. Either way, it’s ok.)
Just so you know, Trombone Shorty and his band will melt your face off. Stellar is the word that comes to mind. What a show!
Just popped in to the radio compound to tell you all about it, and look who showed up.
Anyhoo, heading out to see Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros, Damian Marley & Nas, Dr. Dog, Tenacious D, Kings of Leon and, um, more….
The first person to send an e-mail to jayson@wrlt.com with the the hip-hop artist’s name I mispronounced on the air yesterday gets a Lightning 100 swag bag.
Stay tuned boys and girls….
